Nichols Moves Up to No. 12 In AVCA National Rankings
DUDLEY, Mass – In this week's AVCA National Rankings, the Nichols College men's volleyball program continued to reach new heights by moving up to the No. 12 position, the highest ranking in program history.
The official announcement was released on Tuesday afternoon following a 1-1 week for the Bison.
The Bison claimed a dominant win over Fisher College (NAIA) to open the week, sweeping the Falcons in straight sets, 3-0. However, the storyline of the past week came the following Friday, where the Bison took a closely contested loss at home against top-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology, 3-1. Despite the loss, the Bison battled the Leopards to four close sets, claiming their lone win of the night in the second by a score of 25-23.
This season, the now No. 12 Bison hold a 13-2 (1-0 NEVC) overall record. Up next, Nichols makes their way out to in-conference opponent Russel Sage College (2-6, 0-0 NEVC) for a tri-match on Saturday, February 24th. Nichols will open the day with a 12:00 PM showdown against the host Gators before facing Ramapo College (3-2, 1-0 SKYLINE) in the closer at 2:00 PM.
